The line-up for Wolverhampton Grand Theatre’s biggest ever pantomime ALADDIN, just got bigger with the announcement of Britain’s Got Talent’s sensational soprano Lucy Kay, who will play the role of Princess Jasmine, and master of magic, illusionist Stefan Pejic playing the evil sorcerer, Abanazar.
Lucy and Stefan join the previously announced Joe McElderry as Aladdin, Lisa Riley as Slave of the Ring, Ben Faulks (CBeebies’ Mr Bloom) as the Chief of the Peking Police, Doreen Tipton as the Lazy Empress of China and Ian Adams as Widow Twankey.
Lucy Kay recently starred as The Narrator alongside Joe McElderry in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which wowed audiences at the Grand Theatre last May. The classical singer who rose to fame on the 2014 series of Britain’s Got Talent has been tipped as the ‘next Katherine Jenkins‘. Immediately after competing on the talent show, Lucy joined Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro on tour, signed a multi-album deal with Sony Classical and her debut album, Fantasia, shot straight to the top of the Classical Album Charts.
